Volleyball Game Preview: Pekin Dragons vs. Limestone Rockets

Pekin is 2-8 against Limestone since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Pekin turned things around against Canton on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Little Giants by a score of 2-0.

While Pekin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Limestone is still undefeated this season after their contest against Metamora on Tuesday, but Metamora came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Rockets came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Redbirds.

Limestone was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (69-63), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Pekin's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Limestone, their record is now 16-0.

Pekin came up short against Limestone in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
