Baseball Recap: Baldwin Gets the Win

Baldwin won against Paxon School For Advanced Studies last Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Indians walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Baker County Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Chase Staley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Baldwin: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 9-10 otherwise. Staley was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Baldwin got a big performance out of Jesse Macik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Macik has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Baldwin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Baldwin now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Baker County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwin will take on Hilliard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baker County, they will square off against Santa Fe at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
