Mitchell is a perfect 3-0 against Lecanto since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mitchell Mustangs will challenge the Lecanto Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Mitchell is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Mitchell had just enough and edged out Land O' Lakes 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Gators since March 28, 2023.

Mitchell got a great performance from CADE VERMILLION as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. VERMILLION has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Mitchell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LOGAN KOSLIN, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. DREW WEINBERG was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Lecanto fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Crystal River on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Lecanto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Lecanto's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mitchell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Lecanto, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Mitchell's hitters?

Mitchell came out on top in a nail-biter against Lecanto in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-3. Does Mitchell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lecanto turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
