Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Marquette

St. Joseph's Academy faced Marquette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Angels lost 3-0 to the Mustangs. The Angels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While St. Joseph's Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Marquette's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-23.

Kathryn Teepe paced St. Joseph's Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Teepe got some help from Ashley Eveler and her 20 assists. Eveler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

St. Joseph's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-11-1. As for Marquette, they pushed their record up to 19-16 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

St. Joseph's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marquette, they will face off against Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
