Recap: Tri-Valley Bears vs. Onteora Eagles
The Tri-Valley Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 40-20 defeat at the hands of Onteora. Tri-Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Onteora apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2021.
Onteora had a senior duo take command as Reese Rotella threw for 303 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per attempt and Griffin Alterio gained 191 total yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cole Matteson, who picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tri-Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.7 points per game. As for Onteora, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Tri-Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Onteora also has no future games currently scheduled.
