Softball Game Preview: West Iredell Warriors vs. Statesville Greyhounds

For the second straight game, West Iredell will face off against Statesville. West Iredell will square off against Statesville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: West Iredell has lost seven straight at home (dating back to last season), while Statesville has lost ten on the road (also dating back to last season).

West Iredell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 28-1 margin over Statesville on Tuesday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Eliana Johnson was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Johnson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.

West Iredell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .804. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Statesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for West Iredell, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
