Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Grizzlies vs. Churchill Lancers

Ashland is 1-9 against Churchill since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ashland Grizzlies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Churchill Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Ashland lost to Hidden Valley on the road by a 45-31 margin. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-41, which was the final score in Churchill's tilt against Gresham on Tuesday.

Churchill's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Ashland came out on top in a nail-biter against Churchill when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. Does Ashland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Churchill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
