Basketball Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

After flying high against Superior last Friday, Standing Bear came back down to earth. The Standing Bear Grizzlies were beaten by the Bennington Badgers 75-37 on Tuesday. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-9.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Fellers, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Osborn, who posted five points.

It was another big night for Austin Kaiser, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and three steals for Bennington. The game was Kaiser's third in a row with at least ten points. Blaize Jung was another key player, going 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

Standing Bear's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bennington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Standing Bear wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-50 defeat against Waverly on the 24th. As for Bennington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-67 loss against Norris on the 24th.
