Volleyball Game Preview: Florence Huskies vs. St. Mary's Pirates

Florence is 1-9 against St. Mary since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Huskies will welcome the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Florence lost 3-0 to Rye on Saturday.

Florence took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's didn't have quite enough to beat Banning Lewis Academy on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stallions 25-16 in the first set.

St. Mary's started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 26-28, 25-20, 25-15, 15-11.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
