Basketball Game Preview: Marlboro County Bulldogs vs. Georgetown Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Justin Purvis and Amos Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Marlboro County Bulldogs will welcome the Georgetown Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlboro County will be strutting in after a victory while Georgetown will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Marlboro County didn't have too much trouble with Aynor as they won 42-28. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Blue Jackets are ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Georgetown came up short against Waccamaw on Tuesday and fell 68-60.

Georgetown's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Marlboro County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Marlboro County lost to Georgetown at home by a decisive 62-48 margin in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jones, who posted 25 points and eight steals.
