Basketball Game Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Desert Hills Thunder

Hurricane is 1-9 against Desert Hills since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hurricane Tigers will be playing at home against the Desert Hills Thunder at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Hurricane had to suffer through a 61-33 loss at the hands of Desert Hills. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Thunder since January 11, 2022.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Callie Hughes, who posted four points. Another player making a difference was Ellie Durant, who put up two points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hurricane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The win (which was Desert Hills' fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Hurricane, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.
