Softball Recap: Slaton Tigers vs. Childress Bobcats

Slaton lost against Childress back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Slaton Tigers fell just short of the Childress Bobcats by a score of 5-4.

For Childress' part, Ansley Parr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Parr has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Parr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Journey Prince was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Kaleigh Ross was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

As for Childress, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Childress is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
