Softball Recap: Roma Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Roma's offense. They came up short against the Mission Eagles on Tuesday, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Gladiators' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Roma's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Mission, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roma will take on Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 24-game losing streak. As for Mission, they will venture away from home to face off against Palmview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
