Football Recap: Owen Paulsen Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Stevenson

King's Way Christian's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Stevenson Bulldogs 40-14. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

King's Way Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Paulsen, who threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 33 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Paulsen a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). A healthy portion of Paulsen's aerial production (148 yards to be exact) went to Rylan Richter, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

King's Way Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Drew Aiello with 2.5 sacks.

King's Way Christian's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Stevenson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Way Christian will host Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stevenson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
