Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Stoneman Douglas

Stoneman Douglas had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stoneman Douglas was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 13-25, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Alyssa James and Isabella Cox, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Pulsifer and her 19 assists. James was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Stoneman Douglas' win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Pompano Beach, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Coming up, Stoneman Douglas will host Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pompano Beach, they will head out to face off against Fort Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
