Basketball Recap: Anthony Andrews Comes Up Short

Anthony Andrews lost against Shaktoolik back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anthony Andrews Storm were outmatched by the Shaktoolik Wolverines and fell 86-40. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.

Shaktoolik was led to victory by Annette Paniptchuk and Summer Sampson. Paniptchuk posted 15 points, while Sampson scored 15 points. Claire Sagoonick was another key player, putting up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Anthony Andrews and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Shaktoolik, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing White Mountain the next time they take the court. Shaktoolik will host White Mountain at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, while Anthony Andrews will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
