It was a good run, but Challis unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 42-36 to the Rockland Bulldogs. The Vikings lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 36-0 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Challis lost, don't look at Owen Thayn. Despite the final result, he threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Thayn didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass.
Even if they lost, Challis' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Garrison Applegate was especially locked on to Rockland's QB and sacked him twice.
Rockland was led to victory by Xavier Parrish and Zack Permann. Parrish threw for 231 yards and four TDs, while Permann gained 257 total yards and two touchdowns. Permann also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making 16 total tackles. Donevan Garner was Parrish's top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
