Softball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Comes Up Short

Judge Memorial Catholic extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They came up short against the Providence Hall Patriots, falling 22-2. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Avery Kaleel was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Emma Terhaar was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Providence Hall, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-8. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Providence Hall's side, Taycee Metts made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Metts has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hailey Lenz was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mariah Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Judge Memorial Catholic nor Providence Hall have any future games scheduled.
