Basketball Game Preview: Millard South Patriots vs. Benson Bunnies

Millard South has gone a perfect 10-0 against Benson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Millard South Patriots will be playing at home against the Benson Bunnies at 3:00 p.m. Millard South will be strutting in after a win while Benson will be coming in after a defeat.

Millard South is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-27 victory over Omaha Northwest. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

Millard South can attribute much of their success to Abbi Durow, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 24 points and six rebounds, and Aubrey Carder, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Durow is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Macey Kuchta, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Benson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-36 loss at the hands of Kearney. While losing is never fun, the Bunnies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Bearcats are ranked 29th).

Millard South is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Benson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Everything came up roses for Millard South against Benson in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-21 win. Does Millard South have another victory up their sleeve, or will Benson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
