Softball Recap: Pennridge Victorious

Pennridge and Central Bucks East pushed the score to 12-11 the last time they played Central Bucks East, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Patriots 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Patriots back in March, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Averi Dockery made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Jadyn Gulbinski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Emerson Lesher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Pennridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Bucks East struck out 14 times.

Pennridge now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Central Bucks East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Coming up, Pennridge will be playing at home against Central Bucks West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Bucks East, they will take on North Penn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
