After flying high against Independence last Friday, Pope John Paul II came back down to earth. The Jaguars received a blow on Thursday as they fell 35-21 to the Pearl River Rebels. The Jaguars have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Pope John Paul II lost, don't look at Dominik Smith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown.

Brayden Hutchison looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 85 yards and one score on only eight carries.
