Football Recap: McNair Victorious + How To Watch

McNair's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with an 18-17 win over the Midtown Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

The critical scores for McNair came from Gemere Adams, Keyuntae Phillips, and Rashad Blalock.

McNair was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midtown only rushed for 156 rushing yards.

When it comes to explaining why Midtown lost, don't look at Cam Austin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

McNair's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Midtown, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNair will head out to square off against Bremen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Midtown, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Drew at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th. The matchup will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
