Football Recap: Altus Bulldogs vs. Guthrie Bluejays
Altus lost a close one when they played last Thursday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They lost 56-34 to the Guthrie Bluejays. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Bluejays are ranked 37th).
Guthrie got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Smith out in front who rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those 172 rushing yards gave Smith a new career-high. Kolten Carlock was in the mix as well, providing Guthrie with two touchdowns.
