Baseball Recap: Bellflower Takes a Loss

Bellflower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Downey Vikings, falling 13-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-3 loss last Wednesday.

Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Downey, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Coming up, Bellflower will face off against Mar Vista at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Mar Vista's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Bellflower's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Downey, they will head out to face off against La Mirada at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. La Mirada will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Downey surely won't give up without a fight.
