Recap: M.L. King Lions vs. Arabia Mountain Rams
The M.L. King Lions lost against the Arabia Mountain Rams back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. M.L. King took a hard 21-6 fall against Arabia Mountain. While losing is never fun, M.L. King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Arabia Mountain is ranked 136th).
Among those leading the charge was Laron Jones, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Jordan Miller made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
This is the second loss in a row for M.L. King and nudges their season record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Tucker (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.8% over those games). As for Arabia Mountain, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
M.L. King will be playing at home against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Decatur is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Arabia Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 225 points over their last five contests.
