Basketball Recap: Texas City Comes Up Short

Texas City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Iowa Colony Pioneers and fell 72-17. The contest marked the Stingarees' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Vasia Farris was Texas City's leading scorer, having posted six points. Daryiah Robinson held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Texas City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Iowa Colony, they pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Texas City will welcome La Porte at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. La Porte will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Texas City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Iowa Colony, they will venture away from home to challenge Ball at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kalyn Toussaint and Eryn Roberts.
