Baseball Recap: East Side Wins Going Away Against Orange

While East Side didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Orange Tornadoes 19-3 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jose Rodriguez Jr., who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Montonez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

East Side always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .533 or higher in three consecutive games.

East Side's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Orange, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, East Side will challenge Newark Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Orange, they will square off against Shabazz at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
