Recap: Suffield Academy Tigers vs. Cheshire Academy Cats
The Suffield Academy Tigers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 20-13 win over Cheshire Academy on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Suffield Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Cheshire Academy is ranked fourth).
Several Cats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dante Reno, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 227 yards and a touchdown while completing 72% of his passes. Luke Reynolds was another key contributor, picking up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Suffield Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Cheshire Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Suffield Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheshire Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Avon Old Farms at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
