Baseball Recap: Shadow Hills' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Shadow Hills hadn't done well against La Quinta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blackhawks a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since March 4th.

Not much got past Julian Briceno, who gave up just three hits to keep La Quinta off the board. Briceno also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Shadow Hills is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Shadow Hills' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Arizaga, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

With the victory, Shadow Hills broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-15. As for La Quinta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.

Shadow Hills will take on Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rattlers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. La Quinta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
