Basketball Game Preview: King & Queen Central Royal Tigers vs. West Point Pointers

King & Queen Central and West Point are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The King & Queen Central Royal Tigers will head out to challenge the West Point Pointers at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

King & Queen Central is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Mathews, falling 80-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Royal Tigers have suffered against the Blue Devils since February 4, 2020.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Point). They claimed a resounding 70-31 victory over Charles City. The win was some much needed relief for the Pointers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

West Point's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for King & Queen Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

King & Queen Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Point in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for King & Queen Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
