Basketball Game Preview: South Whidbey Falcons vs. Granite Falls Tigers

South Whidbey is 8-2 against Granite Falls since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Whidbey Falcons will take on the Granite Falls Tigers in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. South Whidbey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

South Whidbey is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Summit Sierra to the tune of 64-15 on Friday. With the Falcons ahead 39-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Cameron McGill and Robby Sullivan were among the main playmakers for South Whidbey as the former almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 boards and the latter posted ten points along with six steals and five boards. Sullivan is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Dill, who had seven points.

South Whidbey smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Granite Falls came up short against Bush on Wednesday and fell 61-53.

South Whidbey's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Granite Falls, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Whidbey couldn't quite finish off Granite Falls in their previous matchup back in January and fell 51-49. Can South Whidbey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
