Basketball Game Preview: Manzano Monarchs vs. Gadsden Panthers

Manzano is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Gadsden a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Manzano Monarchs will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Gadsden Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Manzano is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Highland on Tuesday. The Monarchs lost 75-55 to the Hornets.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-18, which was the final score in Gadsden's tilt against Carlsbad on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 49 points.

Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Gadsden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Manzano didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gadsden in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 73-68 victory.
