Fredericktown is on a three-game streak of home wins, while River Valley is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Freddies will host the Vikings at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Fredericktown put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against East Knox as they made off with a 22-1 win. The Freddies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.
Vika Arnett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Arnett was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aubree Whiteley was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Baylee Newton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Fredericktown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, River Valley won against Shelby on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Whippets by a score of 10-6.
Fredericktown's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Fredericktown was able to grind out a solid victory over River Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 17-12. Do the Freddies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
