Softball Game Preview: Belmont Marauders vs. Reading Memorial Rockets

Belmont hasn't had much luck against Reading Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marauders will be playing at home against the Rockets at 4:15 p.m.

On Tuesday, Belmont didn't have quite enough to beat Winchester and fell 6-5.

Lily Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Elsie Lakin-Shultz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Reading Memorial waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Red & Black. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Reading Memorial's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
