Basketball Recap: Antonio Kellogg Jr commands the offense for Wolves win

Basketball Recap: Ygnacio Valley Wolves vs. Campolindo Cougars

Even though the Campolindo Cougars scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, the Ygnacio Valley Wolves still came out on top. Ygnacio Valley took their game against the Cougars 70-59.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ygnacio Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antonio Kellogg Jr, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kellogg Jr is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Todd Tatom Jr, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Mansour, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rendle, who scored 18 points.

Ygnacio Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Campolindo, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.

Ygnacio Valley will head out on the road to square off against the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miramonte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Wolves are ranked 111th). As for Campolindo, they will be playing at home against the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northgate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
