Basketball Recap: Aiden Sweenor Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Thomas County Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lee County, Veterans was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets by a score of 61-53. This was a revenge game for the Warhawks: when they faced off against the Yellow Jackets last Friday, they had to take a 67-62 defeat.

Veterans' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Sweenor, who posted 16 points. The matchup was Sweenor's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaivyon Dawson, who scored nine points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Veterans' win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Thomas County Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

Coming up, Veterans is taking a road trip to take on Lee County at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lee County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. Thomas County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
