Softball Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Gilmer Buckeyes

Pine Tree hasn't had much luck against Gilmer recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pirates will host the Buckeyes at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Pine Tree lost 12-6 to Carthage on Friday.

Pine Tree saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zamoria Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Smith also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another was Rhi Black, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Gilmer didn't have quite enough to beat Henderson on Friday and fell 5-3.

Gilmer's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4-2. As for Pine Tree, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16-1.
