It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Foothill Falcons  face off against  American Eagles at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6  runs per game  this season.
Foothill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15  runs  on Friday, they were much more limited against Bishop O'Dowd  on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Dragons by a score of  3-2.
 Foothill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ellie Novitske, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.  Naima Braham also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, American was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took  an  8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piedmont. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
  Dhwani Badala was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
 Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1. As for American, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
American's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Foothill hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .404. It's a different story for American, though, as  they've  only  averaged .162. Will they be able to contain Foothill's hitters?
 Everything went Foothill's way against American when the teams last played  back in March of 2024, as Foothill made off with  a  13-0 win. Will Foothill repeat their success,  or does  American have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
