Baseball Recap: Greenwood Has No Trouble Against Mount Calvary Christian

Greenwood won the last time they faced Mount Calvary Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats blew past the Chargers 8-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Greenwood got a great performance from Vance Moyer as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Moyer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aaden Sugden and A.J. Adlon did most of the damage at the plate: Sugden got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Adlon went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Oburn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Greenwood's record now sits at 5-10. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will welcome East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they will be playing at home against La Academia Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
