Baseball Game Preview: Culleoka Warriors vs. Wayne County Wildcats

The Culleoka Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Wayne County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Culleoka has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 30.

Culleoka fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-8.

Hudson Williams and Ashton Rubert did some serious damage despite the final result: Williams went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Rubert went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Richardson, who got on base in two of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wayne County got the win against Perry County on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-5. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won six in a row.

Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Culleoka, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
