Baseball Recap: Hawken Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

While Hawken's win against Benedictine wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks skirted past the Bengals 2-1. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bengals on Wednesday, too.

Cole Twardokus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hawken secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Asher Kimball, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Maddox Ruch was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Hawken has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Benedictine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Hawken will venture away from home to challenge Western Reserve Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benedictine, they will host Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
