Softball Recap: Italy Comes Up Short

Italy was the 11-1 winner over Dawson when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gladiators came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 21-13. The Gladiators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charlea Padilla stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ramirez, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Italy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Dawson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-19.

While Italy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
