Softball Preview: Cleveland Warriors vs. Newberg Tigers
Cleveland is 0-3 against Newberg since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Cleveland has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Cleveland managed to slip by McDaniel the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors lost 15-2 to the Mountain Lions on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.
Clara Waldron made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newberg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand North Salem a 16-0 shutout on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
