Basketball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 35-21 to the Sussex Central Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-29 last Tuesday.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Sussex Central, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Surry County has already played their next match (against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sussex Central will host Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Sussex Central surely won't give up without a fight.
