Basketball Recap: Panguitch Has No Trouble Against Tintic

Panguitch not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th (when they won 53-32). They put the hurt on the Tintic Miners with a sharp 63-42 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bobcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Casey Walter had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he also posted an 88% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Coby Bentley, who posted 12 points.

Panguitch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Tintic still got an impressive performance from Haygen Jameson, who scored 17 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. That was a full 40.5% of the Miners' points, marking the fifth time in a row Jameson has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Jones, who earned 12 points and eight rebounds.

Panguitch's record is now 3-4. As for Tintic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Panguitch will be home for the holidays to greet Piute at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tintic, they have already played their next contest, a 66-50 loss against Millard on the 13th.
