Walther Christian Academy had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 7-12 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Northtown Pumas as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Broncos' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
As for Northtown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12. They haven't had much luck with Walther Christian Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
For Northtown's part, Gabriel Velez was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Velez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Aiden Ortiz also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Walther Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northtown, they will take on Steinmetz College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
