Basketball Game Preview: Ursuline Academy Lions vs. Mount Notre Dame

Ursuline Academy hasn't had much luck against Mount Notre Dame recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ursuline Academy Lions will head out on the road to square off against Mount Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Ursuline Academy beats Mount Notre Dame with 37 points on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Ursuline Academy managed a 37-33 victory over Mercy McAuley on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Mount Notre Dame waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 48-37. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Seton is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ursuline Academy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-8. As for Mount Notre Dame, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ursuline Academy took a serious blow against Mount Notre Dame in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 62-22. Can Ursuline Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
