Baseball Recap: North Duplin Starts Season with Loss at Home

North Duplin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the South Lenoir Blue Devils on Thursday, falling 15-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered against the Blue Devils since March 8, 2016.

Noa Quintanillia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Wesley Holmes, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

The victory (which was South Lenoir's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

While North Duplin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
