Softball Recap: Barlow Comes Up Short

Barlow extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 11-8 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central Catholic Rams. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bruins, who until this contest were averaging 3.89 runs allowed.

Alyssa McCormick 2028 made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydney Trapp 2026, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.

As for Central Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Barlow since May 9, 2019.

On Central Catholic's side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Pompetti, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Pompetti has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Portland Razo, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
