Recap: Daviess County Panthers vs. Webster County Trojans
The Daviess County Panthers waltzed into their match on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over Webster County. Given Daviess County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Trojans are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Daviess County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedy Lane, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Briley Henry, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Daviess County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Webster County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.
Daviess County will head out on the road to take on the Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro Catholic is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Webster County will take on the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
